Landslides have been a norm in mountainous regions of Elgon, Kasese, and some other areas as there are in many parts of the world. In Uganda, it has been since 1818 due to mainly rainfall that will take effect for days non-stop and end up having water retained in soils around the mountainous areas.

We at LIJIF know we cannot do more than what the government can do but our contribution to SEARCH AND RESCUE and providing support through medicine, medical emergency response, food distribution and solicitation, clothes, and commodity necessity assistance is what we do. With Community-Based Organizations affiliated with us, we do offer our support in those areas.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) had been offered using the two Ambulances to transport the sick, the weary, and the vulnerable with support and counseling. It has not only been a disaster but our coordination with hospitals like Mulago, Mengo, Nagguru referral hospital, and other health centers our two ambulances have done their best to save over 200+ lives since 2012 for free.
We offered to fund for DEEPER WELL RIGGING that saw the first Village size water pump of mineral water found in our palace. The water project was funded directly by the founder himself for a tune of $150,000 and it supplies water to anyone who desires to connect to it in the Bukusu area
The last in preparedness is FOOD SCARCITY where Lijif even after the economic disaster chose to take food to homes and areas of need during the Pandemic and country lockdown. Four vehicles owned by the Founder were offered for Bunnamwaya area for services to those who desperately needed transportation to health centers. This practice continues today because many people have never recovered from the lockdown and pandemic and many people lost their house heads hence the desire to get support.
We were the first organization to give away free “briefs” pads to young girls and have been doing so since 2012 here in Uganda. With donations from University Hospitals around the United States we have supported that initiative for a long and we still continue to do so. And in 2021, we chose to start an organization to just deal with girls’ needs with Cancer periodical checkups, HPV and needed assistance with child rape, child marriages, and Venereal diseases. With clinics that were started by our own scholarships former students the services are offered free with confidentiality.
